Readly brings back newspaper & magazine reading on the train through partnership with Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern

Readly, the European leader in digital magazine and newspaper subscriptions, has teamed up with the UK’s largest rail operator to offer commuters, day-trippers and holidaymakers free unlimited digital magazine and newspaper reading.

With the commute returning and summer holidays on the horizon, those travelling on Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern trains can sit back and enjoy unlimited reading once again as Readly is offering Govia Thameslink Railway customers a free three-month subscription to its newspaper and magazine app with thousands of titles to choose from.

Govia is one of the UK’s busiest rail operators, currently providing twenty five percent of all passenger journeys.  A recent YouGov survey showed that one in three (33%) people are looking forward to more travel such as holidays, day trips and weekend breaks as restrictions ease and two percent are looking forward to returning to the office.

Readly has a magazine and newspaper for every train journey. The digital subscription service gives readers unlimited access to more than 5,000 UK and international titles in a single app, including leading titles across lifestyle, news, business, women’s interest, health, beauty, fashion, food, travel, sport, finance, parenting and much more.

“As people begin to return to the railway following a difficult year, we’re delighted to be partnering with Readly to offer our customers the chance to enjoy unlimited magazines and newspapers on their next train journey. Whether they’re heading into the office, or enjoying a day trip to the beach, travelling by train is a great way to relax and enjoy some “me-time”, and what better way to do that, than by getting stuck into a good read.” says Emma Wiles, Head of Marketing at GTR

“The regular commute and train travel have always been popular times to read magazines and newspapers, so it’s great to see it return as restrictions ease and people are able to travel again.  We are therefore delighted to be partnering with Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern to entertain, inspire and inform people on the move as they journey across the UK to their destinations this summer and give them the opportunity to read the broad portfolio of titles on Readly's service. Together we’re bringing back train travel reading as the perfect form of entertainment!” says Rob Hanlon, Global Partnerships Director at Readly

Readly offers unlimited "all-you-can-read” access to over 5,000 digital magazines and newspapers in one app for £7.99 a month. During 2020 over 140,000 issues of magazines were distributed and read 99 million times on Readly.

To claim the Readly special offer of a free, three-month subscription, customers sign up to receive eNews updates from either Southern, Thameslink or Great Northern by 1 August. Those who sign up to receive eNews after 1 August will receive a two-month subscription for free, all offers will come to an end on 19 September. For more information visit:
